I'm Sorry Jimmy

Jimmy Butler is an NBA superstar and one of the ten best players in the league. For some - this was already known and I’m merely stating the obvious, to others I’m completely out of mind.

No matter if you agree or don’t one thing that can’t be denied is just how brilliant Jimmy Butler has been throughout these playoffs, especially in game three of the NBA Finals.

Jimmy Butler became the first player in NBA history to record a 40 point triple double in a win. Yes, the first person EVER. In the same game he became the first player in 10 finals tries to outscore, out-rebound and out-assist LeBron James in a game. Simply put, Jimmy was phenomenal.

So now I must apologize to Mr. Big Face Coffee.

Before this season I thought Jimmy Butler was a really good NBA player. He always seemed to make teams better and even when he wasn’t the best player on the team, he seemed to be the one who made the most impact. But like Jimmy himself, I just thought there were far more talented players than him.

“I’m not a god-given talent. I ain’t the best shooter. I’m not the best ballhandler. Not the most athletic. Not the fastest. But I battle. I fight. I’m tough as s--- and I don’t back down. There goes my talent for you. I ain’t scared of nobody. Can’t scare me.”

What I forgot though is, the will of a man should never be underestimated. Jimmy Butler’s will to win can’t be denied. He helped the Minnesota Timberwolves make the playoffs for the first time in over a decade when he was there. The Sixers were a few bounces away from going to the eastern conference finals when Jimmy was on the roster last year, this year they couldn’t win a game in the first round.

I’m sorry Jimmy Butler. Not only didn’t I respect your talent, but your will to win and that was something I should’ve known better than to do.
