The last three months I’ve come to a few realizations that I’d like to share.
First realization, very few of us are “smart” but there are some of us who have been afforded opportunity to have access to knowledge. Second, and more important I think, is that knowledge or lack thereof is as much a product of our own desires as it is the societal issues which plague us.
In the midst of a global pandemic and stay at home orders I’ve been lucky, blessed or however you want to explain it. So during this time I’ve gotten a chance to do things I may normally would’ve told myself I didn’t have time or energy for.
One of those things was reading.
Reading is how knowledge is passed down and spread through generations and to different people. Reading is time travel back to the past and headed toward the future. It can be love, hate or confusion. Reading allows for escapism when there’s no hiding in sight. Reading teaches us about ourselves and gives life to all our imaginations.
Novels or biographies, for research or leisure - reading gives us access to worlds and people we wouldn’t know if not for just picking up a book.
Go read and here’s a list of online bookstores for you.
